Frequently Asked Questions

A few things to know before your next paint & sip.

How do I save my spot?

Reserve and pay in advance so we can have your space ready. Bringing friends? Add your group’s name to your booking, and we’ll do our best to place you together.

When should I get there?

Give yourself 10–15 minutes before class to check in and get comfortable. We begin at the scheduled time. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean catching up independently. Leave a little room in your plans afterward—up to 30 minutes—for finishing touches and photos.

Can I bring snacks or drinks?

Outside food and drinks aren’t permitted, including non-alcoholic beverages.

Who can attend?

Guests ages 13 and up are welcome. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Guests purchasing or consuming alcohol must be 21 or older and present a valid photo ID.

Is there a minimum class size?

Each class needs at least three registered painters. We check enrollment 24 hours before class and will email you if low enrollment means we need to cancel.

What happens if Canvas & Cocktails cancels?

If we cancel for any reason, you can choose a full refund or transfer your reservation to another event.

Are tickets refundable?

The current Eventbrite listings have a no-refunds policy. If Canvas & Cocktails cancels, you can choose a full refund or transfer your reservation to another event.

About Canvas & Cocktails

Canvas & Cocktails is a locally owned Louisville paint and sip created in 2025. We wanted another option for getting out of the house and having a good time. Here, you can grab a drink, pick up a paintbrush and listen to music you actually enjoy. Leave the rest of the week at the door for a while.

How It Started

The idea for Canvas & Cocktails came from looking around Louisville and realizing that a lot of nights ended up the same way. Go to a bar or club, drive somewhere else looking for something to do, or stay home.

We had been to paint and sips before and enjoyed the calm that came with sitting down to paint. We just didn't want ours to feel like another art class.

So we created the kind of place we wanted to go to. There's an instructor if you need help, music playing and a full bar a few steps away. People can talk while they paint. When the right song comes on, somebody is probably getting out of their seat.

Step Inside

Murals cover the walls and track lighting lets us change the room to fit what's happening that day. Sometimes the lights are bright and relaxed. Other times we dim them and let the music take over a little more.

Our custom-built bar sits right in the space with you. We serve beer, wine and the mixed drinks you already know. Our bartenders also rotate signature cocktails and come up with new drinks for different events. Mocktails are available too.

The music changes with the event. You may walk into '90s and 2000s R&B one time and hear something completely different on your next visit. We want each event to have its own feel.

Painting Without the Pressure

Never painted before? That's okay. Our classes are beginner friendly, and our instructors are there when you need help.

We want you to have fun with it and leave with something you're happy to say you painted yourself.

Not Every Night Is the Same

During a guided paint and sip, the instructor leads the room and the music stays low enough for everyone to follow along. If a song comes on that gets everybody moving, we can take a dance break.

On another night, you may walk into dimmer lights and a DJ. You can paint at your own pace while an instructor moves around the room and helps when needed.

We have daytime events as well. Some events are for all ages, while others are made for an adult crowd. Check the event before you come and find the one that sounds like your kind of time.

You Don't Have to Paint

Maybe you just want a drink and somewhere to sit for a while. You can do that too.

Grab a seat at the bar and listen to the music. Depending on what's happening, there may be a game on or board games out. Select events may also include cigars in our fenced outdoor area.

And yes, you can come by yourself. We'll greet you when you walk in and find out what you're in the mood for. If you want to paint, we'll get you set up. If you want to grab a drink and relax, pull up a seat.

Your Private Event

Want the place for your own event? Let us know what you have in mind. Bring your own DJ or use one of ours. We can handle the bar and bartender and help arrange food, cocktails and décor.
